Gratitude

During the past week, I realized, once again, how nurturing and deep the bonds of friendship between women are. My life has always included some very extraordinary women. We support and validate each other in very special ways. The realization struck anew that I am so very blessed with these deep and treasured relationships. So much gratitude to all of those women in my life who love, anchor, and support me. You know who you are.

While writing and working on the publication of both, They Persisted the second edition, and They Roared, I have learned so many things; humility and patience are the top two, but also a deeper gratitude to those women who have supported me in this process. Two things have become crystal clear: How important and lasting the bonds are with my women friends, and how much we need each other. My life is richer, and I have grown in a few ways. Much more than writing and publishing books has happened here.

The following seemed very appropriate to share today. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by. Wishing you a healthy and joyful week.

“Here’s to the crazy ones.

The misfits.

The rebels.

The troublemakers.

The round pegs in the

square holes.

The ones who see things

differently.

They’re not fond of rules.

And they have no respect

for the status quo.

You can praise them,

disagree with them,

quote them,

disbelieve them,

glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you

can’t do is ignore them.

Because they change

things.

They invent.

They imagine.

They heal.

They explore.

They create.

They inspire.

They push the

human race forward.

Maybe they have to be

crazy.

How else can you stare

at an empty canvas and see

a work of art?

Or sit in silence and hear

a song that’s never been written?

Or gaze at a red planet and

see a laboratory on wheels?

While some may see them

as the crazy ones,

we see genius.

Because the people who

are crazy enough to think

they can change the world,

are the ones who do.”
